Workers were busy producing 40,000 flower craft products in the production workshop of Zhicheng Crafts Co., Ltd. in Dalan Town, Luxi County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture on May 21.
In July 2023, a women-centered craft company was established with the production and operation mode of “base plus leader plus women”, providing a new way for women to increase income at home.
Through targeted training and order training, women have learned the skills of handicraft production. Various handicrafts are sold in the surrounding areas and across the country through e-commerce platforms and physical stores.
According to Yang Qinghua, head of the company, since its establishment, nearly a thousand housewives in the county have received training, and more than 200 women have become skilled at making floral handicrafts. The company has been awarded a Women’s Handwoven Demonstration Base in Luxi County.
Since July 2023, the company has completed more than 1.2 million yuan of foreign trade orders, and the exquisite products are exported to European, American, and Southeast Asian markets. This has strengthened the village collective economy and fattened the wallets of villagers, laying a solid foundation for developing handicrafts into a major industry for economic development.
